The Field & Forest Folk offers small-group woodland retreats, guided wellbeing walks and nature-inspired creative experiences in the South Downs National Park, near Petersfield, Hampshire. Founded by James, a qualified teacher, outdoor leader and artist, the business encourages people to step away from the pressures of everyday life, disconnect from digital distractions and reconnect with nature through slower, more mindful experiences.
Their Woodland Reset Weekends combine gentle guided walks, time outdoors, campfire meals, restorative activities and opportunities to unwind in beautiful natural surroundings. With groups limited to eight participants, the retreats offer a relaxed, welcoming environment where guests can enjoy time away from busy routines, with no previous camping experience required.
Creativity is also an important part of The Field & Forest Folk's developing programme. Drawing on James's background in art, nature-inspired art and craft activities include woodland printmaking, sketching and working with natural materials. Dedicated Forest Art Weekends & Courses are also being developed, offering opportunities to explore creativity in an outdoor setting, without the pressure of needing previous artistic experience.
With a focus on mindfulness, nature, creativity and wellbeing, The Field & Forest Folk offers an alternative way to explore making and reconnect with the simple pleasures of spending time outdoors.
