Soft Touch Needlecraft

Established for over ten years, Soft Touch Needlecraft is based in the beautiful market town of Tavistock, Devon. Open six days a week (Monday to Saturday, 9am–4.30pm), this family-run shop is known for its incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff, always happy to advise on projects and materials.

The shop stocks a wide range of beautiful fabrics by the metre, including collections from Tilda, James Brett, Moda, Chatham Glyn, Lewis & Irene, Makower and more. Fat quarters abound and can be hand-cut to customer requirements. There’s also an extensive selection of yarns from Stylecraft, Wendy Wools, King Cole and others, with Double Knit, Aran and Chunky options to suit a range of projects, plus hundreds of knitting patterns to browse in store.

For crafters, Soft Touch offers cushion kits, cross stitch and embroidery kits (including crewel), and needle-felting kits for beginners through to advanced makers. The shop is brimming with ribbons, lace, buttons, pom poms, books, and other haberdashery essentials for sewers, knitters and quilters alike — and they’re also proud suppliers of Janome sewing machines and accessories.
